AGE Limit:

Candidates should be between 18 to 37 years of age as on 01-01-2011. Upper age limit is relaxable to the extent of 5 years for SCs/STs/BCs candidates and up to 10 years for physically handicapped persons. An Ex-serviceman shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of the Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy, according to Govt. instructions, by more than 3 years, he/she shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit. Applicants already in Govt. service shall be eligible up to 45 years of age. However, they will be considered for selection

only if “No Objection Certificate” from the department concerned is furnished at the time of submission of original testimonials.

Selection Procedure:

Selection will be based purely on the merit prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written examination. There will be no interview. However for preparing the merit for the post of Secretary Market Committee the candidates having rural background will be given 5 additional marks. For reckoning rural background, it is clarified that the candidate should have studied for a total period of five years (60 months) in school/schools situated in the rural areas and should have passed 8th class and 12th class from any of these schools. For claiming this benefit, the candidate will have to produce the certificate from the Head of Institute/Institutes attended by him in rural areas specifying the period of his study in that Institute.

Note: The posts carry the pay scales as mentioned under each category but the selected candidates will be governed by the provisions of Punjab Civil Services (Rationalization of Certain Conditions of Service) Act,
2011 (Punjab Act No. 8 of 2011).
